Reports suggest that Mohammed Kaif has been roped into the side as a coaching staff. Though there isn”t any information regarding his role, the Mumbai mirror has confirmed his availability for the upcoming season. If induced into the franchise, he might share the duties alongside Ricky Ponting, who was appointed the head coach in the previous edition.

This isn”t Kaif”s first outing as a coach in the cash-rich league. His association with Gujarat Lions in 2017 was highly spoken as the side displayed a top-notch fielding. Prior to it, he represented two franchises in IPL namely, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. However, due to his inconsistency, he wasn”t a regular pick in the playing XI.

A few months back, Kaif announced his retirement from all formats of the game on the day where he took the side to glory in the NatWest series 2002.

So can Delhi side get a boost with Kaif”s presence? Only time will tell.
