As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Indian bowlers Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan has been asked to stay back by the BCCI for the Test series. The Test series starts with the first one in Adelaide being a Pink-Ball Test. This will be India’s first day-night Test overseas.
Meanwhile, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal were asked to return ost the conclusion of the white-ball leg. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the likes of T Natarajan, Shardul Thakur, and Washington Sundar will continue to stay put Down Under as cover. The report further said that while Natarajan was to stay throughout the tour, Thakur and Sundar’s addition was a tactical decision.

Natarajan was impressive in the games he played. He picked up two wickets in the final ODI and picked up a total of six wickets in the three-match T20I series as well. Thakur and Sundar were impressive for most of the series as well.
Shardul made his Test debut against West Indies in 2018. While Sundar is yet to get his India Test cap. he has played just a solitary ODI, while is a regular in the Indian T20I team.
Three Indian Bowlers Asked To Stay Back For Test Series
The likes of Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar and T Natarajan are among the new crop of bowlers and are products of the IPL. All three are key players for their respective IPL franchises and have learned their trade in the cash-rich league.
India already have Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in the Indian Test squad. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav are the specialist spinners in the Indian test squad for the series.
The Indian pacers were richly impressive in the second warm-up game as well. They bowled out Australia A for 108 in the first innings after scoring 194 with the bat. Shami and Saini picked up three each while Bumrah picked two and Siraj one. The addition of these three only strengthens the Indian attack for the much-awaited Test series.
