Team India skipper Rohit Sharma is regarded as one of the best cricketers of this generation. He has been an outstanding servant of Indian cricket over the last few years, pilling up runs across formats. Rohit Sharma is also a shrewd captain and of the best cricketing minds in world cricket at the moment.

The Mumbai batter has broken several records with his dazzling batting talent and his astute leadership for India as well as in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Similarly, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli too is a modern-day great, who owns various records in the cricketing world. The duo has played a lot of matches together, and their records are often compared by the fans.

While Rohit Sharma himself will be envious of a few records in Virat Kohli’s name, there are some records achieved by the Mumbai batter, that Kohli might not be able to break. In this article, we take a look at three of Rohit Sharma’s records that Virat Kohli might not be able to break.

3 records of Rohit Sharma that Virat Kohli might not be able to break

#3 Most consecutive T20I wins as captain

Rohit Sharma has done a remarkable job as the captain of the Indian team so far. He has a great record leading India with a win percentage of 82.85. Out of the 35 T20Is that Rohit Sharma has led Team India in, they have secured 29 wins and six losses. Rohit Sharma is just one win behind Virat Kohli to become the second most successful Indian captain in T20Is.

Recently, the Indian skipper achieved an illustrious record after India defeated England in the first T20I at Southampton. He owns the record for most consecutive wins by a T20 International captain. Under his leadership, Team India has won 14 successive matches in T20Is since 2021.

The Mumbai batter took over the leadership duties as a full-time captain in T20Is after Virat Kohli stepped down from the post following the 2021 T20 World Cup. With Kohli certain to not take up the leadership role again, it will be impossible for him to break this record.

#2 Three double centuries

Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has been a prolific run-scorer for India, especially in white-ball cricket. When on song, he is one of the most dangerous batters in world cricket. The veteran batter is known for scoring daddy hundreds in International cricket.

Rohit Sharma has slammed three double centuries in One-Day Internationals. He first achieved the feat against Australia in 2013 and then scored the highest individual ODI score against Sri Lanka of unbeaten 264 in 2014. His third double century came again against Sri Lanka in 2017 when he scored an unbeaten 208.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli has not been able to score a double century so far in white-ball cricket for India. His highest score of 183 runs came against Pakistan in 2012 at Dhaka. The former India captain might not be able to surpass Rohit Sharma in the list of most double centuries in ODIs.

#1 250 ODI Sixes

Rohit Sharma can bat in different gears adapting to the situation. He opens the innings for India in white-ball and has done a tremendous job. The right-handed batter initially takes a bit of time to get settled, however, once his eyes get set, he slams the bowlers all round the park.

In his 233 matches ODI career, Rohit Sharma has slammed 250 sixes. He ranks fourth on the list of most sixes scored in One-Day Internationals. Rohit is behind Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, and Sanath Jayasuriya on the list. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has scored 125 sixes in ODI cricket so far. Hence, he might not be able to break Rohit Sharma’s record.
