Australian Test Skipper Tim Paine Goes Into Self Isolation Mode

Australian Test skipper Tim Paine has opted to self isolate himself after COVID cases are on the rise in South Australia. Cricket Australia have also every player who participated in the Sheffield Shield to self-quarantine themselves. Players and support staff hailing from Tasmania, Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria all returned home from their Sheffield Shield hub in Adelaide last week.

Meanwhile, as per reports in ESPN Cricinfo, Cricket Australia asked the players who travelled home after the competition was over.

Tim Paine Goes Into Self Isolation Mode

“Like all people who have travelled from South Australia to Tasmania in the last seven days, the Tasmanian Tigers Sheffield Shield squad are self-isolating as we wait for further advice from Public Health. Players and staff have Covid-19 swab tests scheduled for later today,” ESPNCricinfo quoted a Cricket Tasmania spokesperson as saying.

The first Test between India and Australia will be played exactly a month away from now and the board is worried now about the players with thr growth in the number of COVID cases in the last few days.

The first Test match is scheduled to be played at Adelaide Oval from December 17 and this will be a day-night contest. The India squad and the Australia players who were at the Indian Premier League are currently undergoing 14 days quarantine in Sydney.

Ahead of the Test series India and Australia go head to head in three ODI and three T20is starting from November 27.

Pat Cummins Unsure About Playing White Ball Series vs India

Meanwhile, Aussie speedster Pat Cummins is unsure about his availability in the white-ball series after a long IPL stint.

“(I) haven’t made a final decision on that yet. (It’s) unprecedented times with so many people spending a large portion of time in these bubbles so we’re going to keep all the conversations open, chat about that a bit closer to when we all get together,” Cummins said when asked about resting ahead of the Test summer.
