Australian Test skipper Tim Paine has hailed India ahead of the second test match in Melbourne starting from December 26. He said that India is an extremely talented side and that they will not roll over as they did in Adelaide. Paine is not making the mistake of taking India lightly ahead of the test match saying that they have the capacity and the talent to hit back in Melbourne.

Tim Paine spoke at the pre-match presser saying that they will be paying attention to detail before facing off against India in the second test. He further said that India is an extremely talented side.

“Well, we can’t pay any attention to mental scars or whatever thing they’re talking about. We know India is a proud cricket country, an extremely talented Test match side with lots of dangerous players. Paine said.

Tim Paine further said they have enough talented players to fill in for their skipper Virat Kohli, who will no longer be a part of the Test series. Mohammed Shami too has been ruled out of the test series with a fractured arm.

KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant Are Dangerous Players: Tim Paine

“We know that some of the players they’re talking about coming into their side like KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant, are all dangerous players who want to take the game on by playing positively. If we give them an inch, they will take a mile. So we got to be bang on the mark tomorrow as we were in Adelaide, and prepare to turn up for another five-day battle” the Australian Test skipper said.

Meanwhile, the BCCI announced India’s playing XI for the second test earlier today. Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj are part of the playing XI. Both will be making their debut together in Melbourne. Among the other changes, Rishabh Pant has been included in place of Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja has replaced Virat Kohli in the line-up. Many expected Jadeja to come in for Hanuma Vihari, which would also open up an opportunity for KL Rahul to find a place in the team but that did not happen.

Jadeja’s inclusion in the playing XI allows India to go in with five specialist bowlers which will allow them to rotate all the bowlers accordingly.
