Chepauk Super Gillies batter N Jagadeesan was livid and made an obscene finger gesture towards Baba Aparajith on Thursday against Nellai Royal Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022.
Jagadeesan was run out by Aparajith for backing up too much at the non-striker’s end. The incident took place in the fourth over, during Chepauk Super Gillies’ chase. Aparajith was in his run-up when Jagadeeshan casually stroll out of his crease. He saw and flicked off the bails, with the non-striker well short of the crease.
Even though the dismissal was well within the rules, Jagadeesan was angry with the bowler. He made an obscene finger gesture while walking back to the pavilion. Interestingly, Aparajith had previously stopped in his bowling strides, hinting a warning to the non-striker.

What @aparajithbaba did was well with in the rules.Agree that Jagadeesan might have felt disappointed.Well had Jagadeesan continued the way he batted, he would have seen this team through to victory.I will support Baba in this. https://t.co/QTUc2wnvgf

N Jagadeesan is run out at the non-striker's end for leaving the crease early. High time this mode of dismissal is normalised. #TNPL2022

N Jagadeesan showing the middle finger for a legitimate form of dismissal. Absolute shame.#TNPL2022

Don't really understand why Kaushik Gandhi is asked about Jagadeesan's dismissal. Opinions can't be divided there. And equally poor from KG to say, run-out at bowler's end won't happen under his captaincy. Will he say about any other dismissal? He should be abiding rules.

TNPL 2022 kicks off with a super over
The opening clash of the TNPL 2022 between Nellai Royal Kings (NRK) and the Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) produced an exciting match, which went down to a super over.
The Chepauk Super Gillies won the toss and put the Nellai Royal Kings to bat first. The Baba Indrajith-led team struggled to get off to a good start. They were 27/3 inside the powerplay. However, opener L Suryaprakash and Sanjay Yadav put together a great partnership to take their team to 184/4 at the end of twenty overs.
In reply, the Chepauk Super Gillies captain Kaushik Gandhi kept battling as wickets fell from the other end. In the end, Harish Kumar played a brilliant cameo of 26 runs, to take the match to a super over. The Chepauk Super Gillies managed nine runs in the super over. However, the Nellai Royal Kings won the match on the fifth ball to get off the mark in the tournament.
