3. Shahrukh Khan – Punjab Kings (₹ 5.25 crore)
The Punjab Kings acquired the services of the 25-year-old batsman from Tamil Nadu for a sum of ₹ 5.25 crore. Shahrukh Khan who is known for his hard-hitting abilities had his base price set at just ₹ 20 lakhs before franchises went into a bidding war which was eventually won by the Punjab Kings.

Shahrukh Khan has a reputation for hitting the long ball, recently during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he struck an 18 ball 40 run knock against Himachal Pradesh helping them qualify for the semi-finals.

2. Riley Meredith – Punjab Kings (₹ 8 crores)
It was quite unexpected that an overseas uncapped fast bowler would go for as many as ₹ 8 crore in the IPL auction but Punjab Kings made that happen. Riley Meredith’s base price started at ₹ 40 lakh which went up by ₹ 7.60 lakhs ultimately falling in Punjab Kings baggage.

The bowling all-rounder from Karnataka became the costliest uncapped player in the history of the IPL as Chennai Super Kings laid the final bid of ₹ 9.25 crore after a heavy bidding war. Krishnappa Gowtham was previously bought by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping amount of ₹ 6.2 crores before being traded to Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings) in 2020.
