India’s tour of Bangladesh will commence with three one-day international matches to be played from December 04, 2022. India and Bangladesh have been involved in thrilling encounters, especially in shorter formats.

India and Bangladesh have played 36 ODI matches with India winning 30 while Bangladesh won five, while one ended in no result. The last time India went on Bangladeshi soil in 2015, Bangla Tigers registered their first series win over India winning it by 2-1.

The Indian team would look to continue their domination in the ODI format while Bangladesh can spring a surprise against a strong unit.

#1 Asia Cup 2018 Final

The Indian team took on Bangladesh in the Asia Cup finals played on 28 September 2018. This tournament was played in 50 overs format right before the 2019 World Cup.

Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to field first. It was an aggressive start as Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz provided a flying start putting pressure on Indian bowlers. Kedar Jadhav provided the breakthrough dismissing Miraz with a simple catch to Rayudu. Miraz and Das added 120 runs for the opening wicket.

The Indian bowlers especially Kuldeep Yadav, and Kedar Jadhav kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Das looked in sensational touch as he scored 121 off 117 balls. India skittled Bangladesh out for 222 in 48.3 overs.

Chasing 223 runs to win, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma provided an aggressive start as they added 35 runs for the opening wicket in quick time. Indian team kept losing wickets as Bangladesh bowlers showed discipline.

Kedar Jadhav came back to the crease after an injury. Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided important runs. The match went down the last over as Kedar Jadhav hit the winning runs India won the match by 3 wickets on the last ball.


#2 2015 World Cup quarter-finals

The Indian Cricket Team battled Bangladesh on 19th March 2015 in the second quarterfinals of the ICC World Cup. Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan provided a decent start to the team. Rohit was caught but the umpires called it a no-ball as the Bangladesh fielders did not like the decision. Rohit put up an excellent display with a sensational 137 off 126 balls with 14 fours and 3 sixes.

Suresh Raina made 65 off 57 balls while Ravindra Jadeja hit a quickfire 23 off 10 balls to help the Indian team post 302 for 6 in 50 overs. The Indian bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and won the match by 109 runs.

Umesh Yadav grabbed 4 for 31, while Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets each. For his 137 off 126 balls, Rohit Sharma was named the player of the match.


#3 ICC World Cup 2011

The Indian team provided a dominating display in Group B of the 2011 World Cup played at Sher E Bangla Stadium, Dhaka on 19th February.

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to field first. Virender Sehwag showed his class by smashing Bangladeshi bowlers all over the park with a stunning 175 off 140 balls with 14 fours and 5 sixes.

Virat Kohli made his World Cup debut and scored an unbeaten century. Sachin Tendulkar and Gambhir made decent contributions as India made a massive total of 370 for 4. In reply, it was a big ask for the hosts as they could only score 283 for 9.

India won the match by a massive 87 runs. For his 175 off 140 balls, Virender Sehwag was named the player of the match.
