Chamari Atapattu of Sri Lanka hit the highest Individual score of Women’s World Cup 2017 against Australia. Chamari’s unbeaten 178 was also the highest run scored by a Sri Lankan batswoman in One Day Internationals.

Chamari smashed a vicious 178 off just 143 balls which included 22 fours and 6 sixes. Chamari’s innings helped the Sri Lankan cricket Team to reach a respectable total of 257. However, Chamari’s efforts were all drowned as Australia comfortably chased down the total resulting in Sri Lanka losing the match.

The match witnessed 2 brilliant centuries in the history of Women’s World cup which was scored by Chamari Ahapaththu and Meg Lanning. Meg Lanning”s innings included 19 fours and a six which helped her to score 152 runs. Australia won that match comfortably with 37 balls to spare.

Sarah Taylor smashed a brilliant 147 runs against South Africa which was just a run less than her fellow teammate with whom she shared a brilliant partnership to help England reach the total of 373.The duo amassed 275 runs second wicket partnership which is the highest in Women’s world cup history. The partnership also holds the record of being the second highest partnership in One-day Internationals. Eventually, England won the match against South Africa by 68 runs.
