It was a series of high scores. The 6th ODI at Nagpur was no different. Australia scored mammoth 350 after 156 from Bailey. India had to chase 350+ again. They had done so successfully before in the series. After Rohit and Dhawan got India off to a flying start, Virat smashed the second fastest hundred in history of Indian cricket and finished it off remaining unbeaten on 115 of 66.
3. 100*(52) vs Australia at Jaipur 16 October 2013
After Australian batsmen smashed Indian bowlers all over the park setting India an enormous 360 to win, it was all Dhawan-Rohit-Virat show. Virat smashed the fastest hundred in the history of Indian cricket off just 52-balls beating Virender Sehwag”s 60 ball-hundred vs New Zealand. His brilliant effort helped India chase down 360 with 6 overs to spare.
2. 183(148) vs Pakistan at Dhaka 18 March 2012
In a must-win match to keep hopes alive Pakistan scored 330 and struck in first over removing Gautam Gambhir. Virat held the innings together with 183 off 148 and got great support from Sachin (52) and Rohit (68). This is by far the best innings in the history of Asia Cup.
1. 133*(86) vs Sri Lanka at Hobart 28 February 2012
India had to win this game with a bonus point to stay in the hunt for CB series finals. That meant India had to chase down whatever target Sri Lanka set in 40 overs. To make the matters worse bowlers failed to restrict Sri Lankan batsmen. 320 was the target set for India in 40 overs. When India”s back was against the wall the champion battered Sri Lankan bowlers like a boss. It was one of the best wins in the history of Indian cricket.
