As an opener, he made sure to deliver very vital knocks in almost every match. He ended up at eighth position in the list of maximum run-getters with 512. The 2016 Indian under-19 captain has been in a good touch over the last two years. Irrespective of formats and venues, he showcased his capabilities in bigger games. The tenth edition of IPL can be said as a turning point in his career when he received a contract from Gujarat Lions. He was then brought by Mumbai Indians last year and he reaped them a lot of rewards with his bat.

On most of the occasions in the Indian domestic season, he was the saviour of the side in times of need. His five sixes in an over against Baroda in Ranji season match just before the IPL auctions, tempted a lot of franchises.

Prominently known as a mystery spinner in Tamilnadu”s T20 league TNPL, he was the most lethal spinner in the tournament. Bagging 22 wickets in his debut Vijay Hazare trophy 2018-19 season, the 27 year old is looking confident to creating an impact in the side.
