6. Ashwin’s Mankading Warning

Ravichandran Ashwin is always in a competitive mood when he has the ball in his hand. Since his famous mankading dismissal involving Jos Buttler last season, he has never shied away from claiming that he did everything within the rules.

In IPL 2020, during the RCB and DC match the off-spinner gave Aaron Finch a warning while he saw him leaving his crease early.

After the match this is what Ashwin has Tweeted, “Let’s make it clear !! First and final warning for 2020. I am making it official and don’t blame me later on. @RickyPonting #runout #nonstriker @AaronFinch5 and I are good buddies btw”.

5. Exchange between Jimmy Neesham and Aakash Chopra

Popular commentator Aakash Chopra scrutinised Jimmy Neesham’s ordinary performances playing for Kings XI Punjab. The all-rounder didn’t take this lightly and took a dig at Chopra by making fun of his poor IPL record.

“Averaging 18.5 and striking at 90 doesn’t win many matches either”, Neesham Tweeted while taunting the IPL career of Chopra.

Once Chopra saw this tweet he reminded the cricketer that he gets paid for doing something else now and it’s his job to analyse the performances.

4. Short Run Debate

During the DC and KXIP match early on in this season umpire Nitin Menon made a huge blunder. During the run chase, in the last over Menon signalled one run short which replays suggested that he was wrong.

The batsman bat was over the line and KXIP should be given another run. The proved to be a game-changing decision as the match got tied and eventually DC won the contest in the super-over.

3. Angry Dhoni makes umpire change his decision

MS Dhoni’s CSK desperately needed a win against SRH in IPL 2020. The match got tight towards the end with CSK bowlers under the pump. Then in the 19th, a huge row erupted which involved CSK skipper Dhoni and experienced umpire Paul Reiffel.

Shardul Thakur delivered a yorker which looked a wide and Reiffel was initially seen signalling it but it all changed when he saw Dhoni’s reaction. As soon as he saw Dhoni animated behind the stumps he changed his decision and robbed SRH of an extra ball.

2. Suresh Raina Exit From IPL 2020

Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina was preparing extremely hard for IPL 2020 as he was all set to play for CSK. However, Raina astounded everyone when he decided to fly back to India during the quarantine before the season.

A lot was contemplated after Raina’s pull-out as many said that the star batsman was unhappy with the facilities provided to him by CSK at his hotel. Raina put a full stop to all assumptions and affirmed that he had decided to leave because of family concerns.

1. Anushka Sharma slams Sunil Gavaskar

A casual remark of Sunil Gavaskar during commentary was misunderstood by Anushka Sharma. The former India cricketer only fault was to use Anushka’s name while her husband Virat Kohli was playing on the field.

“Kohli faced only Anushka’s bowling during the lockdown”, Gavaskar had said.

The very next day an irate Anushka Sharma posted a story on her Instagram account where she openly criticised Gavaskar. This became ugly as Gavaskar had to defend himself and declare that he never made any disparaging remarks.
