Top Five highlights in the cricketing world today

As the cricketing world is completely jam-packed with the boxing tests and a couple of premier leagues happening around, these are few of the ones that made the headlines.

Cummins” five makes it advantage Australia

A magical spell by Pat Cummins put the hosts at a comfortable place in the second Test against the Kiwis. His figures of 5/28 made the difference as it was fierce enough to rattle the opposition to a score of 148. The Kiwis weren”t able to build a partnership to nurture their innings and this made them toothless on the field.

In the meanwhile, their star bowler Trent Boult will now not be a part of the series due to a finger injury sustained today. Injuries continue to haunt the Kiwis as they are already missing the services of Lockie Ferguson.

Australia now leads by 460 runs and an early declaration is likely on the cards tomorrow.

Match summary:

Australia: 465/10 (Travis Head 114, Wagner 4/83)

137/4 ( David Warner 38, Wagner 2/39)

New Zealand: 144/10 ( Tom Latham 50, Pat Cummins 5/28 )

Archer”s five, QDK”s cameo and Rory Burns” resistance

After a dramatic collapse in the first innings, the English managed to steal the limelight on day 3.

What deserves attention here is the battle between Jofra Archer. The former dealt only with sixes in one of the most threatening spells of the latter.

However, the illness continues to hinder the progress of the visitors on the field. Joe Root and Jos Buttler were in and out of the field which led Stokes and Bairstow to take additional responsibilities.
