Smriti Mandhana”s fireworks and Kaur”s captain”s knock helped India to top the group B table in the ongoing World T20 tournament at the Caribbean. Though other players failed in contributing to the scoreboard, the bowlers made sure to rip apart the opponents by 48 runs.
While everyone was expecting an intense battle from the explosive Australian side, they weren”t able to handle the spinners and that brought a difference to the game. The side also missed the services of their senior most player Mithali Raj and she is expected to be fit for the semi-final.
This win by the Indian side ensured them a semi-final berth and in all possibilities, the side will face either Windies /England on Friday (November 23). The win is being applauded by several cricket experts across the world. Only India along with hosts Windies are yet to lose a game in the tournament and it will be interesting if the side can create a magic by ending it on a high.
Skipper Harmanpreet who led the pack with a stunning century in the opening game against New Zealand now tops the table for maximum runs (167 runs) while Poonam Yadav leads the bowling charts with eight wickets.
Twitter couldn”t believe what it has witnessed and was in full praise for the team.
