Twitter wishes warrior Yuvraj Singh on the occasion of his 39th birthday. Several former and current Indian cricketers wished Yuvraj on the popular micro-blogging site Twitter. The bluebird was buzzing for one of the greatest left-handed batsmen India has ever produced.
Yuvraj burst on the scene when he was just 19 against world champions Australia in 2000. Those who watched Yuvraj bat in that game knew that he is future batting star of India. Thereafter Yuvraj continued his brilliant form in ODIs and became a regular member of the Indian squad. The dashing southpaw was always a big match player and saved his best for the important occasions.
Yuvraj Singh Celebrates His 39th Birthday Today
Yuvraj played an instrumental role in India’s T20 world cup win in 2007 and 2011 world cup at home. No one can forget his six sixes in one over against Stuart Broad and his brilliance in the semi-finals against Australia in the inaugural T20 world cup. Then in 2011, he fought illness and owned the 50 over world cup with both bat and ball. Yuvraj Singh was named the man of the series as India lifted the ICC cricket world cup after 28 years.
Following that, Yuvraj’s career hit the lowest point as he was diagnosed with cancer. Like a true hero, Yuvraj defeated Cancer and became an inspiration for millions of people around the world. He made a comeback in the Indian side after recovering and continued winning matches in white-ball cricket.
Overall in his career, Yuvraj played 304 ODI matches in which he amassed 8701 runs including 14 centuries. In 40 Tests, Yuvraj scored 1900 runs and in T20Is he scored 1177 runs at a brilliant strike rate of 137.
