The Indian leadership group displayed a brilliant effort in batting as India crush Windies by 8 wickets in the opening game at Guwahati.
The 246-run partnership between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ensured victory to lead 1-0 in the five-match ODI series. Windies bowlers had no clue as both of them reached their 36th and 20th centuries respectively.
This partnership between them is the fifth double century partnership between them. Virat just needs 81 runs to reach the prestigious 10K run club and in all likelihood, he is expected to reach by the end of the series. Rohit who scored a couple of centuries in the Aida cup continued his fine form thus scoring a scintillating 152*.
This century is also Kohli”s 60th international ton and the youngest one to do so (29 years old). He was adjudged the Man of the match for his splendid knock. This is Virat”s fourth ODI century in the calendar year (3 in Southafrica).
Twitter is on all praise for the Indian No:1 and 2 batsmen for their class in the middle. This is how it reacted:
Double Dhamaka. Kohli and Rohit made it look very easy. Congratulations @ImRo45 on your 6th 150+ score, the first man to do so. Tremendous achievement. #IndvWI

Indian cricket so fortunate to have one batsman every generation since the 70s to have extra ordinary ability and insatiable hunger for runs. Virat is one for this generation.
