Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 21 runs in the 50th match of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL). These two points were very crucial for Delhi to keep them alive in the race of playoffs. David Warner, Rovman Powell and Khaleel Ahmed were the three shining stars of this win for Delhi.
While chasing the mammoth target of 208 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t get a good start. They lost Williamson and Abhishek Sharma cheaply. Aiden Markaram played an impactful knock of 42 runs but couldn’t make it big. In the end, Nicholas Pooran scored brilliant 62 runs in 34 balls. But this wasn’t enough for the massive target they were chasing.
Khaleel Ahmed was the best bowler for Delhi Capitals while defending the target. He picked three crucial wickets in four overs. Shardul Thakur also chipped in with vital wickets to put Hyderabad out of the game.

Wow, that was fun! And played as it should be in that last over by Warner and Powell. Take the team past 200, doesn't matter who scores them or what landmark is round the corner.

#DCvSRH Kane Williamson is playing very unnecessarily, is a Test cricketer who does not expect a run in six words, that opener comes. Brother Williamson do something and come to the number seven

Hyderabad will never chase 200+ if Williamson keeps opening (but they will chase 160, as we have seen).

Never disrespect team legend @SunRisers that curse is real and they will come and hunt us.. @ RCB Gayle… #Warner.

The come back story of David Warner will be remembered forever – dropped from SRH team then Man of the tournament in T20 WC 2021, scoring runs for fun in IPL 2022 including unbeaten 92*(58) vs SRH.

I don’t know who wins this game. Rovman Powell preached the truth about some of these players pigeonholed as finishers. Give them the chance to bat higher. Trust them for a few games and they will advance an innings better than most. Miller, Pollard, Russell, Hetmyer etc.

“We were put under pressure a lot in that first half” – Kane Williamson
SRH captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to field first. Delhi Capital didn’t get a good start and lost the early wickets of Mandeep Singh and Mitchell Marsh. However with the help of brilliant innings from David Warner and Rovman Powell, Delhi Capitals was able to score a massive total of 207 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most economical bowler for SRH.
Losing ca ptain Kane Williamson in the post match presentation said ” It’s a pretty small ground and there was a little bit of dew. If we kept wickets in hand, then who knows. For us, it’s just going back to the drawing board and keeping things really simple. We were put under pressure a lot in that first half and allowed them to get an above par total “
