A brilliant century from Virat Kohli has put the Indian side on the top in the second ODI against West Indies. While other batsmen struggled at the Port of Spain Kohli felt to be batting on a different deck.
His knock included over 10 classic boundaries alongside a six. Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are currently steading the innings in the middle. It is to be noted that this century is a special one to Kohli after a series of half-centuries in the world cup.
On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer also brought up his third half-century and is looking solid at the crease.
Virat Kohli amasses several records
In the process of his ton, he broke several records. Firstly, he is now the ninth highest all-time ODI run-scorer surpassing Sourav Ganguly. Secondly, he became the player to score maximum runs against the Carribiens in the ODI format of the game.
He also now holds the record for the fewest number of innings taken by a batsman to score 2000 runs against an opposition. Kohli took 34 innings to achieve this mark. His tally of tons counts up to twenty as a skipper with this astounding knock.
Twitter couldn”t stop appreciating the Indian skipper on his ton and this is how it reacted on the same:
