Bangladesh is currently playing Afghanistan at Southampton. Both the Asian teams have been giving headaches to their opponents and an interesting battle is on the cards now. Opting to bowl first, Afghanistan has been doing a good job by giving breakthroughs. However, one of the most controversial things took place in the game today.

Liton Das, the Bangladeshi opener fell in the trap for a wrong call by the Umpire. Batting on 16, Liton hit straight to Shahidi off Mujeeb at covers. However, the umpires were not sure so it was sent for confirmation to the third umpire Aleem Dar(with the soft signal being out). Replays suggested that the ball was on the ground before it was collected into the hands of the keeper.

As there wasn’t any conclusive evidence within the time frame to reverse the decision, the signal was out and Liton Das once again fell as a prey to these errors. Umpiring errors have been one of the most frustrating things in this tournament as it played a vital role in the results of a few games. Particularly, the dismissal of Gayle and few other players have raised eyebrows regarding the standards in a world tournament.

Bangladeshi fans aren’t convinced much with this gesture and they are fuming at the officials for such happenings. The entire social media can be seen expressing dissent regarding the incident. It is to be noted that Liton Das’ dismissal against India in the Asia cup was one of the most discussed topics on the internet. Adding an insult to the injury, fans aren’t much pleased and are really obsessed with these wrong decisions.
