Team India vice-captain KL Rahul was seen back at his fluent best as he scored a half-century against Bangladesh in Adelaide on Wednesday. His half-century consisted of 3 fours and four maximums striking at 156.25.
Rahul has had a string of low scores in this world cup which raises several questions around the top order of India given that Rohit Sharma is unable to score runs. The criticisms have been silenced to a certain extent after this innings.
India will hope that this is the start of some explosive knocks for the team so that they can lift the trophy at Melbourne. This tournament prior to this game scored 22 runs in 3 innings at a strike rate of less than 100.
There have been some questions raised about his form and strike rate since his return to the team. Coach, Rahul Dravid and Captain, Rohit Sharma have backed the vice-captain and his capabilities to perform on the biggest stage for the country.
Let’s look at some of the Twitter reactions to his innings:

If you can't accept him at his worst, then you don't deserve him at his best. Glad to be alive in the KL Rahul era.

India has a bit of luck early on but they have ridden it well. Enjoyed watching KL Rahul come into his own. This is not a very easy surface to bat on but you wouldn't realise that if you saw Sky batting

KL Rahul, Virat Kohli guide India to 184/6
India ended up with 184-6 at the end of their innings with Virat Kohli scoring yet another half-century. This is his third fifty of the tournament and remained not out at 64. His knock compromised 8 fours and one maximum.
Kohli’s love affair with Adelaide Oval has just further deepened. He has scored 5 centuries at this ground. He has said before that he has a connection with this ground as he scored his maiden century in whites on this ground. His last outing in this format at this ground scored 90* against Australia in 2016.
Bangladesh has begun their chase and India will be able to defend this target against a depleted Bangladesh team who hasn’t stood up with the bat. At the time of writing, Bangladesh were at 66/0 in seven overs, with Litton Das smashing a 21-ball 50 before the rain gods stopped the proceedings.
