The return of Rohit Sharma to the Test side has sparked multiple points of view among experts. After having got injured during the IPL whilst playing for the Mumbai Indians, the latter was not named in any of the Indian squads for the tour of Australia. But just like any Bollywood movie, a twist in the tale was guaranteed as just a few hours after Rohit Sharma missed on the squad announcements, a video surfaced on the Mumbai Indians’ social media account of their skipper tonking the bowlers in and out in the nets.

This sparked another debate if at all Rohit Sharma is injured then why is the batsman even training at the nets with Mumbai Indians and if it all he’s all fit then why isn’t the latter named in the Indian squads for the tour of Australia. A lot of questions were to be asked as the situation of Rohit Sharma was creating plenty of confusion amongst the general public.

Rohit Sharma Registered Scores of 6 and 12 During The 1st Test Against England

The confusion led to further more confusion when Rohit turned up for the Mumbai Indians side during the playoffs and ended up playing all the matches in the playoffs including the all-important final where Mumbai emerged victorious for the fifth time in seven years.

Soon the Indian team departed to Australia on the completion of the IPL while Rohit Sharma headed back to India to complete his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Later on, as soon as the T20 series ended, Rohit Sharma was named in the Indian side for the 3rd and 4th Test.

Since Virat Kohli was out on paternity leave and Ajinkya Rahane was named Skipper for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Test, Rohit Sharma was surprisingly named vice-captain ahead of the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin in the side.

Ever since returning to the Test side during the Australian tour, Rohit has registered scores of 26, 52, 44, 7, and now during the England series, he’s scored just 6 and 12 during the first Test at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This has led to people talking about Rohit Sharma’s position on the Test side, some have said that Rohit Sharma should be rested from the Test side after repetitive failures.
