The ICC announced 3 nominations for the best men’s player of the month for January. Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj will have a chance to win the prestigious award. New Zealand’s Devon Conway is the third player included in the list.

Here we look at the performances of all these three players in January

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill had a dream in January with great performances in the One-day ICC international series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand at home.

He looked in sensational touch right from the first One-day international against Sri Lanka. Gill showed his domination with some lovely performances including his 3rd One-day international century in the 3rd match at Trivandrum.

Gill became the fifth Indian batter to score a double century in the ODI format with a sensational 208 off 149 deliveries in the first match against New Zealand at Hyderabad. For his brilliant double century, Gill was named the player of the match. On a tough wicket at Raipur, he remained not out on 40 helping Team India win the game easily. He dominated the Kiwi bowling line with another brilliant century in the 3rd ODI match in Indore with 112.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj was the pick of bowlers for India in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He grabbed 2 for 30 in the first match at Guwahati, then produced 3 for 30 in the 2nd ODI at Kolkata and the best figures of 4 for 32 in the third ODI at Trivandrum.

Conway began 2023 with a superb 122 runs in the first innings of the 2nd Test match at Karachi, followed by a golden duck in the 2nd innings. He showed tremendous skills with centuries in the 2nd and 3rd ODI match against Pakistan that helped New Zealand register famous 2-1 ODI series win on Pakistani soil after a long time.

Chasing down massive 386 runs in the final ODI at Indore, Conway looked impressive with 138 runs off 100 balls. He scored 52 off 35 balls during the first ICC T20I match at Ranchi and helped Kiwis register 21 runs win.
