India Under 19 continued their impressive run in Under 19 World Cup with a resounding win over Bangladesh in the quarterfinals played John Davies, Queenstown just a few moments ago. Prithvi Shaw won an important and elected to bat first. Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill added important runs. Abhishek Sharma came lower down the order, contributed 50 runs off 49 balls. India Under 19 was bowled out for 265. The Indian bowlers and fielders did a great job, bowling out Bangladesh for 134.
Indian captain Prithvi Shaw won the toss and elected to bat. Manjot Kalra was dismissed cheaply for 9 runs. Captain Shaw and Shubman Gill played with positive intent scoring 71 runs off 10 overs. It was a good wicket to bat on. Both Shaw and Gill added 86 runs for the 2nd wicket. Shubman Gill completed his half-century off 48 balls. There was another good partnership between Gill and Harvik Desai putting on 74 runs for the third wicket.
India Under 19 lost wickets at regular intervals but Abhishek Sharma came to the crease and played with positive intent. He scored 50 off 49 balls. The Men in Blue were bowled out for 265 in 49.2 overs.
Chasing the target of 266, the Mohammad Naim and Pinak Ghosh started cautiously putting on 23 runs in 8.4 overs. The Indian fast bowlers and spinners put the pressure on Bangladesh batting line up not allowing them to score runs easily. It was a great fielding performance by Indian fielders to produce 2 brilliant run outs. From 76 to 2, Bangladesh was bowled out for 134. Pinak Ghosh was the top scorer with 43.

Shubman Gill was named as man of the match for his 86.

India Under 19 will play the semi-finals against arch-rivals Pakistan on 30th January at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
