UP T20 League: [WATCH] Bhuvneshwar Kumar Turns Into A ‘Power Hitter,’; Smashes Big Sixes With Ease

On September 5, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Indian fast bowler representing the Noida Super Kings in the UP T20 league led by Nitish Rana, made headlines with his bat rather than his typical bowling skills.

Batting at number nine for the Noida Super Kings, he played a vital role by hitting two sixes, contributing a total of 14 runs from just four balls. This boosted the team’s score to 171/8 before he was dismissed by Yogendra Doyla.

Initially, Almas Shaukat and Samarth Singh, as openers, gave Noida an excellent beginning by crafting an 86-run partnership for the first wicket. Though Captain Nitish Rana got out without adding any runs, the middle and lower-middle-order players made valuable contributions, ultimately helping Noida achieve a decent total after 20 overs.

Quinton de Kock Is Set To Retire From ODIs After 2023 World Cup

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is not currently a part of the Indian team, showcases his signature inswinging delivery, hitting the off-stump perfectly in the UP T20 League. Bhuvneshwar, the second-highest ranked ICC T20I bowler for India after Arshdeep Singh, has been absent from T20Is since November of the previous year, and his last ODI appearance was in January 2022.

He is currently participating in the UP T20 League as a member of the Noida Super Kings, a team that also includes Nitish Rana, the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Even though he hasn’t been selected for the Indian team, Bhuvneshwar had a successful 2023 IPL season, securing 16 wickets at an average of 26.56, making him the leading wicket-taker for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Uttar Pradesh T20 League, overseen by the UP Cricket Association, is scheduled from August 30 to September 16, 2023, with all games hosted at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium.
