The fourth T20I of India’s ongoing five-match series against South Africa was called off without a toss due to heavy fog in Lucknow on Wednesday, December 17. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has announced a full refund for spectators who had attended the match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
UPCA confirmed that fans who purchased tickets online will receive refunds via their original payment method. Those with offline tickets must appear in person with their physical ticket and a government-issued ID. UPCA secretary Prem Manohar Gupta shared the details in an official statement (via Hindustan Times).
“Spectators who booked tickets online will receive a refund of the ticket amount through their original mode of payment. Refund-related notifications will be sent to the registered email addresses. Ticket holders are advised to regularly monitor their emails for further updates.”
“Offline ticket holders must be present in person and are required to: Carry your original physical tickets along with a copy of Government ID for verification,” the statement added.

Spectators must provide the necessary documents along with their bank details, and the refund will be processed once the verification is complete.
“Customers will submit all the above with their bank details. Fill out the refund form provided at the counter with relevant and accurate details. Submit the original tickets along with the completed form for verification.”
”Upon successful verification, refunds will be processed directly to the respective bank accounts as per the details provided in the refund form. Refunds will be initiated only after due verification of the submitted documents and information,” the statement said.
The toss for the fourth T20I was originally set for 6:30 PM (IST), but heavy fog caused multiple delays. The umpires conducted several inspections to assess visibility, yet the match was eventually abandoned.
