Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen having a brief chat with Virat Kohli after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the IPL 2026 title. May 31 turned out to be a memorable day for Virat Kohli and RCB. Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to lift the trophy.
The final was also attended by 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who had an outstanding season. He finished as the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 776 runs. Sporting a new haircut, Sooryavanshi was seen in the stands alongside ICC chairman Jay Shah, former India captain Sourav Ganguly, and BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla.
However, the biggest moment for the youngster came after the match. Kohli walked up to Sooryavanshi, put an arm around his shoulder, and spoke with him for a few minutes. While the details of their conversation remain unknown, it was clearly a special moment for the young batter.
Kohli’s gesture came less than a day after cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar backed Sooryavanshi as a future Test cricketer and praised his batting technique.

It is worth noting that earlier in IPL 2026, Kohli had shared a special moment with Sooryavanshi. After the young left-hander played a brilliant innings and took apart the RCB bowling attack during a match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Kohli signed his cap and also gave him an autograph.
