The long-awaited moment has finally arrived, with teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi set to make his international debut in the second T20I between England cricket team and India national cricket team at Manchester on Saturday, July 4. India are currently involved in a five-match T20I series, with the opening game washed out midway due to rain.

Suryavanshi, who was widely expected to debut during the Ireland series, remained on the sidelines in the first T20I against England as well. However, the youngster finally received his maiden India cap from Tilak Varma ahead of the Manchester clash.

Many former cricketers and fans had been eagerly calling for his debut, and with the young star now ready to represent the senior side, social media quickly filled with reactions.

“The first page of what could be a legendary career. Wishing you the very best, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. 🇮🇳⭐,” a fan wrote on X.

“Never been this much excited watching any Indian player making his debut in recent times. Go well Vaibhav Suryavanshi #ENGvIND,” another fan tweeted.

Here are some more twitter reactions:

After winning the toss, India elected to bat first, meaning Vaibhav Suryavanshi will open the innings alongside Abhishek Sharma. The spotlight will firmly be on the young batter as he begins his much-anticipated debut.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shatters Indian Legend’s Record

By receiving his debut cap, Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name in history even before taking the field, becoming the youngest Indian male cricketer to play international cricket. The milestone had previously belonged to Sachin Tendulkar, who made his international debut at 16 years and 205 days in 1989 during a Test match against Pakistan national cricket team.

Suryavanshi also surpassed Washington Sundar to become India’s youngest men’s T20I debutant, with Sundar having debuted in the format at 18 years and 80 days in 2017. After a sensational Indian Premier League campaign, scoring 776 runs at an average of 48.50 and a remarkable strike rate of 237.30, including one century and five half-centuries, Suryavanshi will be expected to make an immediate impact on debut.
