VIDEO: Alyssa Healy takes an absolute blinder in Women”s Ashes

As we go further into November, the most anticipated series of the year is nearing. Yes! It’s the Ashes 2017-18!! However, as they say, Ladies first, the Women’s Ashes is already about to get done and dusted!!

The Southern Stars at the moment lead the point-based multi-format series 4-2. The 3 match ODI series was won by Australia 2-1. The one-off test at North Sydney Oval ended in a draw, giving Australia 2 points in first innings lead. In the point-based system, 2 points are granted for each win. The 3 T20 internationals were to be played on November 17, 19 and 21 at North Sydney Oval (first 2) and Canberra (last T20I).

The first T20I got underway at North Sydney Oval. Australia won the toss and put England in. The visitors were pushed on backfoot straightaway with early strikes from Jonassen and Schutt. Ellyse Perry, who is currently the most valuable all-rounder in Australian women’s cricket at the moment came on to bowl.

Tammy Beaumont slashed one which was wide only to get a thick outside edge. The ball was dying on to the keeper before Alyssa Healy grabs her in her gloves. It turned out to be a stunner that got rid of a key batter in English batting line up. That was some special stuff by Healy!!!
