Chris Gayle showed his class during the Bangladesh Premier League 2017 in the Eliminator for Rangpur Riders against Khulna Titans played at Sher E Bangla Stadium, Dhaka today. Riders won the toss and invited Khulna Titans to bat. It was decent batting display by Titans to post 167 for 6 in 20 overs.
Chris Gayle looked in great hitting form for Riders from the start. He completed his half-century in 23 balls. After completing 50, Gayle continued played with great intent and made the batting look easy. The power hitter completed his 19th T20 century off 45 balls. During this brilliant innings, Gayle smashed the longest six of the tournament. He continued to plunder the Titans bowling and remained not out on 126 in 51 balls.
Chris Gayle became the first batsman in T20 cricket to hit 800 sixes. In the IPL 10 season, Gayle completed his 10,000 runs. In the innings of 126 in 51 balls, Gayle hit only 6 fours and 14 sixes. Rangpur Riders reached the target with ease. It is nice to see Gayle comeback into his original form.
Gayle won the man of the match award for his superb knock. In his T20 career, the hard-hitting batsman has played 318 matches and scored 10907 runs with the best score of 175 not out for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
