You know while all eyes have been on the Ashes and now with India touring South Africa for a grueling Test Series the eyeballs and limelight have not really gone on him but if you are watching and have been watching Big Bash league from previous years you wouldn”t have missed the blockbuster package that Chris Lynn is.
The swashbuckling T20 power hitter that Lynn is has earned him the reputation and fanfare around the cricketing globe for his ability to hit big sixes and do so consistently. Lynn”s ability to hit sixes can be very well gauged from the fact that he has one of the best & quickest rates of sixes hit per balls in T20 cricket history.
Recently Chris Lynn became the quickest to get 100 sixes in the Big Bash league”s history which is an enormous achievement. I for one believe that with the evolution of batting the bowling has also had to grow to keep up the competitive levels of our game and hence the bowlers are much more smarter, hold more variety up their sleeves & backed up by data analysis more than ever hence the batsmen are under bigger scrutiny to every chink they might have in their batting can be exposed by intelligent bowlers and yet, to score that many sixes consistently shows the enormity of Lynn”s achievement and his quality.
Lynn is a very well sort after T20 batsmen around the globe in various t20 leagues for a reason.
He has contracts in the IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL and Hong Kong T20 blitz which shows T20 teams around the world are on the lookout players like him and Chris Lynn fits very well in their plans for when at his best Lynn can singlehandedly win T20 games for any side.
Australia, in fact, has picked him in their ODI side for the big-hitting ability he can provide in the late middle order against quality death bowlers that batsmen get to face in the end overs. With only 16 months away from the next 50 overs world cup in England, Lynn can be an excellent addition to Australia”s one day side if he can stay fit and at his best.
