The Caribbean flavor that the Westindies Cricketers bring to the game is an absolute delight to behold. Historically Westindies can be termed as everyone”s 2nd favorite side if obviously, you aren”t from the Caribbean itself.
The Calypso brilliance that West Indies plays their cricket makes them very lovable, yes, the results have declined over the years but it is still everyone”s loved team.
From the famous legends like kaliCharan, Wess Hall, Gary Sobers the game saw and enjoyed personalities like Clive Lloyd, Vivian Richards, and the famous quartet of fast bowling Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Kelvin Croft.
And then people like Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Chris Gayle. They”ve all brought the flavor of the Caribbean islands to our game.
The current generation is perhaps no different, people like Dwayne Bravo, Pollard, Sunil Narine, Andre Russel are household names across the world thanks to the T20 leagues around the world.
And Darren Sammy is no different, recently a video went viral from the recently went by season of the Caribbean Premier League where during a rain break in a game, Darren was seen playing cricket with a young kid on the outskirts of the ground, the grass banks.
The crowds gathered around them and Darren was shown bowling to young kids and making a run out appeal as the kid crossed the crease taking a run. Which was then replayed on the giant screen and the third Umpire gave the kid not out.
It was fun viewing for everyone present and watching on television. The video went viral with a caption “The best use of the 3rd Umpire we”ve ever seen during a rain delay..”
