Colin Ackermann became the first cricketer on the planet to register a 7-wicket haul in the shortest format of the game. The feat was achieved in the game between Leicestershire and Birmingham Bears in the Vitality T20 Blast. His figures of 7/18 won the game for Leicestershire by 55 runs.
An eight-year-old record 6/5 which was held by Arul Suppiah (Malaysia) has been finally broken yesterday. The six-wicket hauls were also previously recorded by Shakib-Al-Hasan and Lasith Malinga.
A video of the same has been posted by the official handle of the T20 Blast.
The league has been capturing public attention off-late with breezy knocks and thrifty spells.

While Ab de Villiers announced his arrival in the first game itself, other brilliant knocks came in recent times.
Babar Azam leads the batting charts with 323 runs while Ackermann himself finds a spot in the charts with 224 runs. He is also skipper of the Leicestershire side and bats at the number four spot. Though he couldn’t contribute much with the bat, he proved his brilliance with the ball yesterday.
A total of 18 teams are currently playing this tournament divided into two groups. The tournament still has a long way to go and the final will be played at Birmingham on September 21st.
