VIDEO: Glenn Maxwell’s stunning boundary catch, an amazing athleticism

Australia were beaten in the fourth one-day international by England at Headingley in 2015 but it was Glenn Maxwell, who took all the spotlight after taking a stunning boundary catch to dismiss Liam Plunkett.

With the match all but beyond them and England only requiring another 18 runs for a series-levelling victory, Glenn Maxwell shows incredible athleticism and skill to secure the wicket of Liam Plunkett with a stunning catch at the boundary.

After an amendment in the law in 2013, the players are allowed to take a fair catch by jumping from behind the rope as long as they are in the air or inside the field of play while touching the ball.Maxi caught the ball at full stretch above his head before his momentum took him backwards over the rope. Then he threw the ball back up in the air before he hit the ground and then leaped back inside the field of play to take the catch.

Earlier the 26-year-old devastating batsman from Australia played a superb knock of 85 from 64 balls. It was one of his best day but not from Aussies’ point of view. His celebration was muted after the stunner, perhaps because the game was running away from Australia.
