VIDEO: Here is why Flintoff was responsible for Yuvi”s 6 biggies

India’s Yuvraj Singh has always had the reputation of being a big-hitter and has always entertained his fans with elegant strokes and majestic hitting. But in the 2007 World T20 he was unbelievable. He played two back-to-back super match winning knocks. One was against the mighty Australians scoring 70 (30) and the other was against the effete England in Durban, no cricket fan needs to be enlightened.

It was all about the rampage at the Kingsmead that the Southpaw delivered up his sleeve. No Indian cricket fans can forget this enthralling episode and neither do Stuart Broad and Andrew Flintoff can afford to do it. The left-handed batsman created history in the inaugural edition of the World T20 in South Africa in 2007 by hitting 6 sixes in an over.

It was all clean hitting from Yuvraj Singh and that over also turned the tide for India in the tournament. The prolific star had achieved a unique and quite remarkable feat which etched his name into the record books after hitting six consecutive sixes off the hapless Stuart Broad in the 19th over.

But England’s iconic all-rounder, Andrew Flintoff had a lesson to learn from there and might not have committed the same mistake again, the very grave mistake on that night. Freddie Flintoff walked up to Mr. Yuvraj Singh and told him something that made the latter very angry, which happened after Yuvi had hit two boundaries off Flintoff’s over. Thus the infuriated Indian southpaw approached Flintoff rapidly with cricket bat in one hand, before the umpire restrained him and MS Dhoni handled him.

The hot-headed Yuvi then smashed Stuart Broad all around the park for six out of six maximums. It was an unbelievable and unforgettable moment at the Kingsmead as Yuvraj reached his half-century in 12 balls, the fastest in T20Is.

Needless to say, it was an exhibition of thrilling batting from the left-hander.
