The second T20I at the MCG was called off as a heavy downpour interrupted the game in the penultimate over of the Australian innings. A top-order collapse indeed gave a lot of hopes for the visitors to level the series. However, an unexpected rain shattered all the dreams of the Indian side who have no more chance to clinch the series.
Finch, Short and Lynn weren’t able to handle the pace from Indian bowlers as they were dismissed for low scores. All eyes were on Maxwell and Stoinis who pulled off the match in Australia’s favour in the first game. When Stoinis was dismissed for 4 runs off Jasprit Bumrah, the hosts and their fans were hopeful of a ‘Maxwell magic’. But Krunal Pandya had other ideas.
Krunal Pandya’s magical delivery to dismiss Maxwell is one of the best sights a spinner can ever get. A puzzled Maxwell had no clue when the delivery knocked down the bails in no time. It is to be noted that Krunal was taken to cleaners by him in the first game at Brisbane. The severe trashing included a hat-trick of sixes too. The fans who criticized Krunal for his costly spells in the last game are all praises now as he showed his class today.
The third T20I will be played at Sydney on Sunday. India will be looking forward to draw the series by ending the game on a high, provided weather conditions do not act as a hindrance.
"That's a peach!"
