One of the best wicketkeepers in international cricket and legends, Mahendra Singh Dhoni creates the record of most stumping’s during the fifth One day international against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo today. It was a great delivery by Yuzvendra Chahal who dismissed Akila Danajaya in the 45th over and Mahendra Singh Dhoni created the record. The score at that time was 212 for 7.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the best wicketkeepers at the present moment. He surpassed the record of Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara of 99 stumping’s in ODI cricket. Sri Lanka was in a steady position of 185 for 4 and then lost wickets at regular intervals. MS Dhoni made his ODI debut in 2004 and is playing for the Indian team till now. In his 301st match during 13 years for India, Dhoni has 283 catches and 100 stumping’s to his name.
India has dominated Sri Lanka in the entire series winning test series 3-0 and leading the ODI series 4-0. MS Dhoni also equaled the record of 99 stumping’s during the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka. His ability to keep behind stumps with such ease and not allow the batsmen come in time shows that India is lucky to have such a great wicketkeeper.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni still plays a key role in India’s ODI team with his wicketkeeping and also with his batting. With the ODI series against Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka coming up, the wicketkeeper batsman would be looking to continue his good form.
