The hard-hitting left-handed batsman Risbabh Pant made his test debut on the first day of 3rd test match played at Nottingham, Trent Bridge. He replaced Dinesh Karthik who looked out of form in the 2 test matches that he played in this series.
Risbabh Pant got off the mark in style with a straight six off Adil Rashid bowling when India’s score was 279 for 5 in the 78th over. He remained not out on 22 with India at 307 for 6. Pant played well for India A in the four-day matches here. His attacking abilities provided the much-earned cap.
Rishabh Pant was exceptional in this year’s Indian Premier League scoring 684 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 173.60 finishing as 2nd leading runs scorer behind Kane Williamson. He made 1 century and 8 half centuries for Delhi Daredevils. In today’s test match the stylish left-handed explosive batsman became the 291st player to represent India in test matches.
Rishabh Pant contributed brilliantly for Delhi Daredevils in the 2017 edition scoring 366 runs from 14 matches with a strike rate of 165.61. With Pant at the crease, India would be hoping that the explosive batsman could provide a spark and help visitors post 400.
Rishabh Pant made his first-class debut for Delhi in 2015 against Bengal. His ability to play aggressive cricket makes him a dangerous player. He has played 23 first-class matches and scored 1744 runs with the best score of 308.
In the white ball format, Rishabh Pant has played only 4 T20I matches and scored just 73 runs with the best score of 38. He is yet to make his ODI debut as he was selected in the team for series against West Indies last year but was not selected in the playing XI.

Pant would be looking to play with positive intent tomorrow morning and help team India post a decent total.
