Batting first, India had a poor start. Mohammad Asif rattled India’s top batting order. It was just 36 on the board when India lost 4 wickets in the 7th over. Then Robin Uthappa”s superb half-century had resurrected Indian hopes. Uthappa thumped Pakistani bowlers for 4 fours and 2 sixes in his knock of 50 runs.
Misbah-ul-Haq stood firm in the chase and took Pakistan very close to the target but unfortunately they did not cross over the line and the match ended in a tie. A bowl-out took place under the rules of T20I then and it was India all the way who emerged as winners. Pakistan missed all three hits while India were too accurate hitting the stumps and the third hit came from the hero Uthappa’s hand. Then there were celebrations all around.
