The Indian women”s team who are currently at Kimberly, Southafrica for a 3 match ODI series for the ICC ODI championship are enjoying their campaign as they won the series already securing a 2-0 lead.
Stellar performances from Jhulan, Smriti, and Harmanpreet made India triumph in the series and made it count in the race of qualification for 2021 World Cup
Smriti Mandhana in the post-match conference had a few words to share.
“Feels good to contribute”
Speaking to the press, dashing opener Smriti Mandhana mentioned “Feels so good contributing to the team. It”s even special as we won the series”
Smriti amassed 219 runs in two innings at an average of 108.00 and played a vital role in securing the 2-0 lead.
“Conditions are different than we expected”
She also said that the team expected very pace friendly and bouncy conditions but capitalizing on the wicket by taking sometime made her adapt to the conditions and bat better.
It is to be noted that this series is a part of ICC championship which determines the teams that will qualify for the 2021 World cup. A win in each game yields two points to the team.

Smriti also lauded the nature of the pitch in the second game.”The wicket was far better than the first match and that made the difference. Feels good to be 2-0.But it is an ICC championship match so every match matters as it is 2 points worth”
Smriti congratulates Jhulan
Jhulan Goswami became the leading wicket-taker in the women”s cricket with 200 scalps in the last match. She said “It”s always good to have Mithali and Jhulan in the team as they set high standards to follow. Huge congratulations to Jhulan and hopefully she should make it 250”
The next match will be played at Potchefstroom on February 10.
