It was after three years from One Day International debut in 2000, Yuvraj Singh smashed his maiden ODI century on 11 April 2003 against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
This was Yuvraj Singh’s 71st ODI. It was just a matter of time before he got his maiden ODI century as he was already an integral part of the ODI setup. Yuvraj Singh went close to the three figures mark a few times before that with some memorable innings to his name in Nairobi (84), Lord’s (69) and against Sri Lanka (98). But this was indeed a very emotional moment for the young southpaw from Punjab.
Yuvraj Singh scored 102 in the innings off 85 balls, smashing 4 sixes and 9 boundaries in the process. Ganguly, Sehwag, Kaif in the dugout acknowledged the young man’s class and joined their hands to praise him. India posted a total of 276 on the board and won the match by 200 runs after Bangladesh were bowled out for a mere 76 (Zaheer 4/19).
