Watch – Vijay Shankar Suffers Nasty Blow On The Head By Pooran’s Throw

Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Vijay Shankar took a nasty blow on his head whilst completing a single in the match against Kings XI Punjab. Shankar copped up the blow as they tried to scramble through for a single that’s when the fielder who tried to attempt the run out missed the stumps and instead hit Vijay Shankar on the head.

This happened during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chase against Kings XI Punjab, batting first the KL Rahul led side scored merely 126 at the end of overs. What looked like would be an easy chase for the Sunrisers, they made the chase difficult themselves as lost way too many wickets after the 10th over. It was expected that Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar would finish the chase off for Sunrisers but even they stumbled in the chase.

Vijay Shankar who has looked in good shape since the last match was batting on 26 off 26 balls when he got hit on the head. It was the 18th over, with Jason Holder on strike that is when he tucked Arshdeep’s delivery down towards point for a quick single that’s when the fielder at the point, had a shy at the stumps eventually missing it and hitting Vijay Shankar.

The ball hit Vijay Shankar on the head and was soon on down on the ground. The physio was called to check in after which the game went on, Vijay Shankar continued batting but it wasn’t for long as he was dismissed the very next delivery after being caught behind by skipper KL Rahul.

In that following over Arshdeep only conceded three runs in the 18th over putting Kings XI Punjab in a strong position. Followed by which Chris Jordan conceded 3 runs in the 19th over leaving Arshdeep to defend 13 off the final 6 balls of the innings as he managed to do keeping Kings XI Punjab’s playoff hopes alive in the tournament.
