Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are the two most consistent batsmen across formats today. The Indian skipper averages more than 50 in all forms whereas Babar is the only player to be in the top 10 in ICC rankings of all three formats. Ian Bishop who is currently one of the most powerful voices in cricket, said both of them bat like Sachin Tendulkar.

In a recent conversation with former Zimbabwe pacer Pommie Mbangwa, Bishop talked the two current batsmen that impress him the most. The commentator picked Babar Azam and Virat Kohli and compared their similar batting styles to the little master.

Bishop spoke about how the two current batsmen bat in straight lines which make them look elegant much like Tendulkar did during his illustrious career.

“Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, who in terms of the straight lines, you remember Sachin Tendulkar, there’s a reason why I think he was the best batsman I bowled to as he always played in the straight lines and these two guys Kohli and Azam do that,” Bishop told Mbangwa during the interaction.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Babar Azam is the number one T20I and number 3 ODI batsman in the world. He has also immensely improved his game in red-ball cricket and has averaged more than anyone else in the last two years.

Whereas Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest white ball batsman of all time. The run machine currently has 70 international centuries and is only behind Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar. The 31-year-old will next be in action during IPL 2020 in UAE. Kohli will be once again leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore when the IPL will take place between September 19- November 10.
