Virat Kohli recently opened up about what he wants to do after he retires. Many have speculated that Virat will hang the boots after the recent ICC (International Cricket Council) tournament wins. While he hasn’t spoken directly about when he will retire, now he has talked about what he will do when he does retire. Players often go the commentary route, but for Virat, after an intense career that has lasted almost two decades now with the Indian cricket team, it is unlikely that he would want to do that.
Virat Kohli on Post Retirement Activities
Virat Kohli said, “I actually don’t know what I will be doing post retirement, recently I asked a teammate the same question, and got the same reply. Yeah but there may be a lot of traveling.”

While he doesn’t know what he wants to do yet, he will definitely travel is what he believes. Virat’s family, including Anushka Sharma, an Indian movies actress and his daughter have shifted to the United Kingdom (UK) to live with more freedom locally. This isn’t possible for Virat’s family to do so in India.
Virat is definitely expected to be seen playing the Indian Premier League (IPL) for many years to come for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), even after retiring from the international cricket. After the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 win, Virat Kohli had announced his retirement from the format. The same was done by Rohit Sharma. However, neither of the Indian batting greats have announced a retirement from the ODI (One Day Internationals) format after winning the ICC Champions Trophy (CT), 2025. It is very likely that they both are eyeing the ICC ODI World Cup 2027, which will be played in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
