Virat Kohli achieved two new captaincy records after winning the T20I series win against Australia in Sydney. India won the second T20I on the back of their win in the first game in Canberra to complete the series win. Meanwhile, Kohli has entered a list of his own after winning the T20I series by beating Australia. Kohli did not single-handedly drive India to victory in any of the five matches – three ODIs, two T20Is – but his twin half-centuries in the ODIs and a crucial 24-ball 40 in the 195-run chase showed his rich vein of form in the series.

The first record which  Virat Kohli made in the game was that he became the only international captain to win a series (more than one match) across all formats on Australian soil.

India won the ODI and the Test series under Virat Kohli in Australia in the 2018-19 season. They lost the T20I series, unfortunately. This time, however, he has already won the T20I series with a match to spare.

The second record which Kohli achieved is a very special one. he became the first Indian captain to win T20I series in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) countries. MS Dhoni has not won T20I series against England and New Zealand.

Virat Kohli was also clever in using his players in the series. Especially the way he has used Hardik Pandya and Natarajan in the series has been commendable.

Virat Kohli will be playing two more games for India before he flies home for the birth of his first child. The Indian thinktank is sweating over finding his ideal replacement for him at number four in the remaining three Test matches.
