England and Tottenham Hotspurs striker Harry Kane found time out to play some cricket in the Spurs locker room recently. He hit some good shots as the batting talent of Kane came to the fore. The England football superstar, on Friday, took to Twitter to post a video of himself playing cricket with his teammates which has garnered a lot of reactions on social media.

Meanwhile, along with the video, Harry Kane was quick to tag Virat Kohli and ask him for a place in the Royal Challengers Bangalore batting line-up. Incidentally, Bangalore once again failed to go all the way in the recently-concluded edition of IPL.

“Got a match-winning T20 knock in me I reckon. ???????? Any places going for @RCBTweets in the @IPL next season @imVkohli??,” Harry Kane wrote.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli was also quick enough to reply to Kane’s Tweet. He jokingly replied saying that Harry Kane can be a very good counter-attacking batsman for his side. Incidentally, Kohli and Kane share a very cordial relationship and have often had exchanges on social media. Both of them have shown immense respect for each other’s contribution to the sport.

“Haha good skills mate. Maybe we can get you in as a counter-attacking batsman,” wrote Virat Kohli.

India Lose first ODI vs Australia

Meanwhile, the Indian skipper is currently in Australia to play a full series against their rivals. India lost the first ODI in Sydney on Friday. Chasing 375 to win, Kohli scored 21 before he was dismissed. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on Sunday. Virat Kohli has already lost four back to back ODI matches as captain this year. This is his worst streak as Indian captain in ODIs. One more loss will see Team India lose the series.

Talking about his IPL franchise RCB, they made to the playoffs yet again. However, they lost the eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad to bow out of the competition. With the next IPL season happening in the next six months, it will be interesting to see the kind of squad the franchise builds and if Kohli is retained as the captain of the side.

Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel stood by Virat Kohli and said that the skipper alone should not be blamed for the team’s poor show in IPL 2020. The wicket-keeper-batsman did not play a single game this IPL season.

“I personally felt that we had a team that could win the tournament. Everyone in the camp felt it. We had all the bases covered. Sometimes the playoff games just don’t go your way. Scoring 130 in a playoff game, we came very close. I thought we fought really hard. But as I said, you can’t just blame the captain. There are a lot of other things as well – there is director of cricket, there is head coach – there are a lot of other things involved in it. To blame the captain is also not true,” the wicket-keeper-batsman said.
