Virat Kohli isn”t pleased by this move by ICC

Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper with a brilliant hundred became the second fastest player to 24 centuries in the match against Windies. He has been piling up records to his name and not to forget he is the top-ranked batsman in both the formats (ODI and test).

However, it seems that he isn”t pleased by the new rules set by ICC on water breaks. According to rules and regulations, players are allowed to take water breaks only when a wicket falls or only at times between the overs under the supervision of umpires.

Water and extreme heat

It is to be noted that players struggled a lot under the heat on all three days of play. Pujara was even seen carrying a bottle in his pants as he wasn”t able to withstand the heat in course of his innings.

In the post-match press conference, Kohli expressed his views on the same. He said “That was a bit to do with the umpires pushing us as well, with these new rules coming in of not drinking too much water. These things should be considered according to the conditions we play in.”

“It was quite difficult for the guys not to drink water for close to 40-45 minutes while batting and on the field as well. I’m sure they’ll look into this,” he added.

“We wanted to have the extra guy because of the heat factor. Four bowlers would have struggled in these conditions and we just wanted to give them the bit more breaks in between and still have quality bowling coming at the opposition, “said Kohli who expressed his concerns on the latest regulations from September 30.

An example for the same

Another instance would be the Ashes 2017 when English players found it difficult to accustom the conditions in Sydney. Joe Root “s sickness due to extreme heat even prompted MCC to suggest few changes such as cancelling the game under such circumstances.
