Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson Reveal Details Of The Conversation While Sitting Behind The Boundary Line

The image of Team India skipper Virat Kohli chatting with counterpart Kane Williamson alongside Rishabh Pant during the fifth T20I at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui has now gone viral. The fans were curious to know the details of the conversation and finally both Kohli and Williamson spill beans on the candid chat.

So far, the tour has witnessed a close contest between both the nations. India swept New Zealand aside by five games to none in the T20I series and the hosts returned the favour in the ODIs, winning each of the three games. The focus now shifts to the longest format, where the two teams have had contrasting fortunes in recent times.

As both sides look to take the better of each other, Virat Kohli has revealed the details of the conversation. During India’s visit to the Indian High Commission in Wellington, Kohli stated that the Indian team has developed as the strongest team in the world cricket alongside New Zealand, who can scare any kind of opposition. Further, Kohli revealed that he was having a conversation about life and other matters but not about cricket.

“Something that we have embraced as a team over the last three-four years and we have reached a stage where every team wants to beat us. New Zealand won’t be any different but the difference is that there won’t be any spite in it and that’s one reason why I can sit with Kane on the boundary line and have a conversation midgame about life and not cricket,” Kohli said.

On the other hand, Kane Williamson also spoke on the conversation stating the chat was quite exciting. Virat Kohli and Williamson share a cordial relation which dates back to the U19 days. Williamson added the chat was a much-needed one and was quite refreshing.

“It was really interesting the other day to sit down and have a quiet chat on the outfield and share a lot of thoughts that we had and a lot of similar views on the game and slightly different approaches which were really refreshing and quite inspiring as well from a guy who’s leading the way with his tenacious and competitive attitude,” Williamson said.
