Virat Kohli Misses The Century By A Whisker; Fans React On His Stunning Knock

In the 2024 IPL match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the teams were neck and neck in their head-to-head record, with PBKS leading by just two wins out of 32 matches. Earlier in the season, RCB won against PBKS in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli faced a tough start against Kaverappa, surviving a dropped catch early on.

However, he and Du Plessis picked up the pace, with Du Plessis hitting consecutive fours. Arshdeep took over for the second over, but RCB continued to score well, with Kohli leading the charge. Sam Curran‘s entry saw Kohli hitting boundaries, adding 16 runs to RCB’s total. Arshdeep returned for the fourth over, with RCB’s Kohli and Patidar continuing their strong partnership, hitting boundaries and a six, totalling 16 runs again.

Rahul Chahar’s introduction didn’t slow RCB down, with Patidar hitting three consecutive sixes in the eighth over. RCB reached 90/2 in 8 overs, with the momentum still in their favour. Chahar’s next over saw Patidar hitting more sixes, pushing RCB to 133/3 by the 12th over. Livingstone’s over saw Kohli and Green adding runs steadily, with some misfields helping RCB’s cause.

RCB reached 185/3 by the 16th over, with Virat Kohli dominating the scoring, hitting boundaries and sixes. However, his innings was cut short at 92 runs by Arshdeep. Karthik replaced him and hit a six off the first ball he faced. Harshal Patel’s over saw more boundaries and a six from Green, pushing RCB past the 200-run mark. Kohli’s innings of 92 runs off 47 balls was crucial in RCB’s strong performance.

Kohli’s innings, characterized by aggressive batting and strong partnerships, helped RCB set a formidable target for PBKS. Despite falling short of a century, Kohli’s contribution was pivotal in RCB’s innings.

Virat Kohli was the standout performer as Royal Challengers Bangalore secured a 60-run victory over Punjab Kings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday.
