Star Indian batter Virat Kohli surpasses teammate Shubman Gill, Daryl Mitchell, and Mohammed Shami to become the ICC ODI Cricketer of the year for 2023. He showed brilliant performances in the year for 2023 in One-day international cricket.

Virat Kohli was in sublime form with lovely performances. He finished as the 2nd leading run scorer in One-day international as showed tremendous batting performances. His performances looked impressive with 1377 runs from 27 matches (24 innings) including 6 centuries and 8 half-centuries that put up brake on a disappointing 2022.

He showed his domination with the best score of 166 not out against Sri Lanka at Vizag. Kohli made the batting look easy keeping the momentum and proved his worth. It was a brilliant batting display showing his class against bowlers.

Virat Kohli had tremendous success scoring centuries at will and made sure that India won matches with his sublime batting.

Virat Kohli had a tremendous outing in the 2023 World Cup. He began the tournament with a superb 85 runs against Australia in the first match at Chennai where India looked in trouble at 2 for 3. Kohli then followed with a superb unbeaten 55 against Afghanistan and helped Men in Blue register a comfortable victory.

Kohli scored his first century off the tournament remaining not out on 103 against Bangladesh at Pune. His performance continued with a sensational 95 against New Zealand that helped the team recover from a tough situation and won the match by 4 wickets.

He was dismissed without opening his account against England. He showed his class with a superb knock of 88 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai. Virat Kohli scored his 49th One-day international century against South Africa helping India post 326 for 5 in 50 overs.

Kohli scored a record-breaking 50th OD century with 117 against New Zealand in the first semi-finals at Mumbai. He scored a well-complied half-century in the finals against Australia but could not convert it into a big score. He scored the most number of runs in a World Cup edition. During the 2023 World Cup, Kohli made 765 runs from 11 matches (11 innings) including 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries to his name.
