Kohli scored his first century off the tournament remaining not out on 103 against Bangladesh at Pune. His performance continued with a sensational 95 against New Zealand that helped the team recover from a tough situation and won the match by 4 wickets.
He was dismissed without opening his account against England. He showed his class with a superb knock of 88 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai. Virat Kohli scored his 49th One-day international century against South Africa helping India post 326 for 5 in 50 overs.
Kohli scored a record-breaking 50th OD century with 117 against New Zealand in the first semi-finals at Mumbai. He scored a well-complied half-century in the finals against Australia but could not convert it into a big score. He scored the most number of runs in a World Cup edition. During the 2023 World Cup, Kohli made 765 runs from 11 matches (11 innings) including 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries to his name.
