The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has halted every action including cricket across the globe. The Indian Premier League (IPL) which was scheduled to commence from March 29 also got postponed amid the wake of COVID-19. Initially, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponed the tournament until April 14 but with the government extending the lockdown, they have now postponed it for an indefinite period.
Meanwhile, with an uncalled break, the cricketers are spending a lot of time on social media engaging with fans. Recently, India skipper Virat Kohli came live with his long time Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate and a great friend AB de Villiers.

During the chat, Kohli revealed that he will represent only Bangalore in IPL till he plays cricket. Kohli remains the only player in the history of the IPL to have played all twelve seasons with a single franchise and intends not to leave RCB anytime soon.
Virat Kohli joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for $30,000 in 2008 after leading India to a memorable triumph at the U-19 World Cup. Since then, Kohli is currently one of the highest earners in the IPL and draws a salary of Rs 17 crore. The talismanic run-scorer has so far played 177 matches in his IPL career amassing 5412 runs at an average of 37.84 and a strike rate of over 131 and is the leading run-getter of all time in the history of the tournament.

“There’s no chance in any situation that I would play for any team other than RCB. The fans and franchise has been so loyal over the years. Till the time I am playing IPL, Regardless of how we play, I not going to leave RCB,” Kohli told De Villiers during the Instagram Live.
In conclusion, Virat Kohli expressed that he is hopeful about the future of the IPL and believes that the tournament will take place at some point later this year.
